Dear Friends,

I moved from my lifelong residence in New Jersey to take care of my mother in South Carolina about two and half years ago. Sadly, I’ve been unemployed since January 2016 when I was laid off from my job I secured before I moved to South Carolina. I’ve done everything I can think of to find work. I’ve used every job web site I could find. I used the Chamber of Commerce membership list to send out literally hundreds of resumes. I’ve used the state department of workforce development web site and personal services. This is just some of what I’ve done. And yet, I cannot find a job. Not even part-time.

I have a disability with my back from being rear ended in more than one car accident when I was in New Jersey. Because of this I was accepted as a client at the South Carolina Department of Vocational Rehabilitation. They sent me to Columbia, SC for a month in July to evaluate my disability and make recommendations for employment. It was a terrific experience and I garnered an unbelievable amount from the program. One particular thing they did for me was cleared me for a job in the field of cosmetology/barbering. This has been a lifelong dream of mine since before I was even in high school. For as long as I can remember I’ve wanted to go into the cosmetology/barbering field. Given the aforementioned situations I’ve decided to make my dream come true. As of last week I am officially a registered student at Kenneth Shuler Schools of Cosmetology, the largest and best cosmetology school in South Carolina and possibly outside the state as well. I didn’t know before pursuing this career change that the tuition was $20,000. But I did all the praying, meditating and positive thinking I could do, determined to make my dream come true. In the end, with my qualifications for federal student aid and loans, I was able to sign a contract and register for school. I also applied for several scholarships and so far I have received one for $2,000. But I was willing to do it all because this is my dream and if I don’t do it now I don’t know that I’ll ever have another chance. I am planning to work part-time while going to school at night. Classes start January 11th and are Monday through Friday from 5:30PM-9:30PM. My mother and I will have to ride share one night per week – the night she goes to her Jehovah’s Witness meeting. But with some effort, it’s doable.

I’m having a difficult time securing funds for my tuition, uniform and school supplies.

It was suggested to me by a friend since it’s my birthday this month and Christmas is around the corner that my very supportive, encouraging and generous friends and relatives might feel so moved to send me something for my birthday and/or Christmas in addition to adding to my college fund.

My mother has stated she is not able to help me financially in any way with school. In addition, her being a devout Jehovah’s Witness, she doesn’t celebrate any holidays. Therefore, that rules out any parental funding or birthday or Christmas gifts.

So I’m asking, if you feel moved in your heart to donate to my college fund please do so here. I will use the money for tuition, school uniform clothes, cosmetology supplies I have to pay for in addition to books, notebooks, pens and pencils, etc.

If you do feel moved to give, please know that any amount is helpful. This money is strictly for school and that’s all I’ll use it for.

I thought about maybe asking to borrow the money, but not having had a job since January 2016 and with no prospects in sight, I have no idea when I’d ever be able to pay anyone back.

If you do feel the Universal spirit of giving in your heart, please use the link to donate to my fund. I figured I wouldn’t know unless I asked, so I’m asking.

If you have any questions, please contact me.

I wouldn’t be where I am now without my friends who were willing to help me, financially, emotionally and mentally. I just need a push to get over this hurdle. Do what you think is right and what’s in your heart. I just want to make my dream come to fruition.

Thank you and bless you with Universal peace, prosperity and abundance. I thank you personally for entertaining my request.

Peace.
