Many may that know we do not have a car, for some this may be a bit of a shocker. Since 2011 we haven't had a car of our own, which is a feat in Houston, Texas, but we are making it. We lost our home and cars due to job loss in 2010 and a subsequent wrongful foreclosure by Bank of America in 2011.
You can read more about the foreclosure class action suit, but the gist is Bank of America took our home using unfair lending practices. We were compensated $800.00 through a nationwide settlement but that did nothing to mend the financial and credit scars created by their actions.
Due to the damage to our credit, in order to purchase a car we would have to do so in cash and insurance will also be expensive, so we have been sharing a car with a family member and relying on the kindness of others.
Having limited transportation has been OK thus far because we purposely have limited our amount of ministry work and volunteering, but we feel the call to do more and have been presented with new opportunities to share our story of renewal with those in need of encouragement. So, we asked God for a little help and He led us to you.
We would like to purchase a well maintained used car for our family but need your help. Though we could save the amount needed over the next year or so, we would prefer to put our extra money towards mending our credit.
God has been awesome in His provision through our company and career opportunities, so we are stretching our faith and asking for your prayers and financial support in the hopes that He will make a way for a new and needed blessing...a car.
