Keith Bigney Cancer Treatment Fund

For those of you don't already know, my father has been battling cancer for about the last 10 years and now has multiple types. One of those cancers is leukaemia and it has turned very aggressive. After the diagnosis of leukaemia 3 years ago my parents have had to pay for a number of treatments that were not covered and have sometimes paid $700 a month. His current medication costs over $2600 a month and they cannot get it fully covered. As you can imagine this has taken its toll on my family. We are currently waiting on a stem cell transplant to hopefully cure the leukaemia but his health has taken a turn for the worst and after not knowing if he would pull through this time we have successfully got him to Halifax hospital. As happy as we are to have him here being looked after there are also additional costs with this stay. At this point my mother can not return to work and has waited over a month for unemployment that hasn't been approved. My husband and I are doing everything we can and my mother has a place to stay with us but she will still need some help with bridge fees, parking costs, meals, and another medication if they should change it again. We are typically not the family to ever ask for help but we need it at this point in time. Thank you if you took the time to read this and also for any donations made.
