Quest For Micra Cup

Donation protected
After representing Australia at the 2016 Nissan GT Academy International Final in the UK, my goal for 2017 was to race in a competitive series with the potential of using it as a stepping stone to the ultimate goal, racing professionally.

Racing in Australia was the obvious choice but there was a problem. I simply didn't have the money to race in a competivie national category in Australia.

With time running out to find a drive in 2017, I decided to act on some advice given to me after GT Academy and booked a flight to Canada.

Armed with nothing but a dream and about $30000 of my own personal savings, I travelled halfway around the world to a country I'd never been to, a region where I didn't speak their main language (French), bought myself a race car and entered the 2017 Nissan Micra Cup.

Best Race Finish: 3rd
Championship Position: 7th

With a 3rd place finish on debut and 5 top 6 finishes from 8 races so far, I am currently 7th overall in the championship and the highest placed first year driver. I've been able to acheive these results even though I've had to make some sacrifices that directly effect car performance over the past 2 rounds.

You see, due to a lack of budget I have only used 2 sets of tyres this year while all other drivers have used 4 sets (one set per round). This has made it more difficult to be fast, especially in qualifying,  but I've still been able to race within the top 10 in all races.

Doing whatever it takes to race

My fancy racecar driver accommodation between rounds 3 & 4!

Between races I've also been doing everything I can to save money and direct as much money as possible into my racing budget. By relying on free accomodation with friends (even if it means sleeping on the floor) and living off the bare essentials when it comes to food I've been able to stretch my budget a little further. I'm also trying to sell my car in Australia to help me continue to race this year, but for now I've now come as far as my personal savings can get me.

I'm asking for your help to race the final 2 rounds of the season as I aim for more podium finishes and secure a top 5 finish in the championship!

Fundraising Goals

GOAL #1 = $4000 (deadline 28 August)
This would be enough to cover the costs of the entry fee for Round 5, 2 new tyres, transport of the car to and from the event and essential maintenance required to race.

GOAL #2 = $4600 (deadline 28 August)
This would be enough to cover all the costs as described above, but allow me to race with 4 new tyres just like all the other competitors.

GOAL #3 = $6000 (deadline 18 September)
This would be the MINIMUM required to finish the season (not including unforseen costs from damage or component failures).

GOAL #4 = $8000 (deadline 18 September)
This would allow me to race both rounds with 4 new tyres and conduct all essential performance based maintenance (not including unforseen costs from damage or component failures).

GOAL #5 = $10000+
This would allow me to finish the season and repair the damage my car has endured during the season. I've been racing it with damaged doors and panels due to a lack of funds, but this would allow me to replace parts that are beyond repair.

Thank you in advance for showing your support and helping me continue to chase my dreams. Every donation goes directly to my racing budget and I will be forever grateful for your support!
