Recently we pulled a puppy named Esmerelda, who broke with Parvo. We tried HARD to save her. Unfortunately, before we could even fundraise for her care, she passed over the Rainbow Bridge.
21 months ago, our Board of Directors passed a resolution prohibiting us from incurring debt from medical treatments. Many worthy non-profits have closed their doors due to lack of cash flow. We didn't want debt to influence our rescue decisions, and we wanted to ensure the financial future of the rescue.
Thanks to our incredible supporters, every animal we have rescued in the past 21 months has had their bills paid before they were released from treatment. Unfortunately, we spent the last of our cash reserves treating Esmerelda.
We have suspended intake to respect our no-debt mandate until we can recover the cost of her treatment.
