We are collaborating with an organisation in Newman inspiring #kids to:
#stopbullying
✌stay in school
✌be respectful and honest
✌find purpose
✌be positive role models for others
I have selected 9 kids who have shown their ability to be consistent, proactive, considerate, and motivated to stand proud as our #tribementors
Newman has very low school attendance rates coupled with high rates of trauma and family violence.
Our #kids have an opportunity to travel to #newman ✈✈ and share their enthusiasm for #fitness #comradery #friendship
To show #kindness and #compassion to kids who experience #hardship on a near daily basis
This not only offers valuable #lifeexperience but shows our #localkids the importance of #payingitforward and #doinggooddeeds ⚘
It also raises awareness about having consideration for those around us and working together as a #community to create a safer #armadalecommunity and #newmancommunity
What we are doing now is an integral part of nurturing the next generation of youth to steer their paths away from drugs, crime and violence, and open up their futures to be uplifting, successful, prosperous, and full of love and compassion for themselves and others around them.
Research shows that THE MOST EFFECTIVE way to stop bullying and violence amongst youths is by their peers standing up to them, and calling them out for their behaviour. This means standing up for your friends when you hear someone saying something or doing something that brings another person down. This also translates to antisocial behaviour. Our COOEE Kidz club tribe mentor leaders, are responsible for LEADING BY EXAMPLE, and stamping out negative behaviour amongst the group.
The kids have been tasked with a variety of fundraising activities as they have to contribute to their plane fares. But they can't do it alone. Any donations will be greatly valued and will help to keep the wave of momentum going for our young tribe. I have a vision that if us as the wider community band together to help show the younger generation that we believe in them, then this will inspire them to continue their paths with the same positive attitude.
