Elijah is my blessing! My miracle child, the one true love of my life. Theres nothing I wouldnt do for him. Which is why I'm swallowing my pride and asking for help. And let me Thank you all in advance for helping me help him.
Elijah was born premature. At just 2 days old we discovered he had a brain bleed (grade 4) that clotted thus effecting parts of his brain that control developmental and motor skills (right side of cerebellum). That clot also was causing his head to swell because of fluid build up (hydocephalus). Doctors said if we dont do surgery he can die and if we do do surgery he can die. Yea those were my 2 options. Great position to be in right?! Well I opted for the surgery and made sure he got baptized first. He had a shunt placement surgery at just 16days old. But at that point so much damage was already done to his precious brain.
Fast forward.....diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy.
He has been receiving services such as Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy since he was about 6months old. As he got older we added on Speech and Vision services. All of this has helped significally and has made my baby boy accomplish things that the doctors said he would never do. Im thankful everyday for every therapist and doctor he has had throughout his life thus far because Lord knows where he would be if he didnt have them.
Which brings me to the reason I need everyones help.
Medicaid has terminated Elijahs health insurance on November 1st which is used to pay for everything he needs to maintain his strength. I make $200 over their cap therefore they are making me responsible for over $2000 per month in medical bills. Gotta love the government! The bills are racking up and theres no way I can afford it. The AFOs he just got are $1300 alone. Each service he gets is $150 per session and he goes 3x per week. And I cannot forget to mention he also has ADHD and he needs his adderral but I havent been able to afford a regular doctors visit to get a refill ($100 for visit plus medication). He also gets sick often in which he requires nebulizer treatment. Its never ending.
Im asking for help for atleast 2 months worth of medical bills while I try to see what other options are out there for him. Every dollar is appreciated. Every dollar will be used to pay for nothing but his medical services I promise you that. Right now I just need as much help as I can get and get these therapists and doctors paid before they tell me they cannot treat him at all. I understand its the holiday season and people have their own homes to worry about so I will never get offended if you cannot give at this time.
