Keeping Edie Well

Donation protected
We are reaching out for your help. Edie was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in the summer of 2012, less than a year after losing her younger sister to the same lung cancer as well. (Neither Edie or her sister were ever smokers.) She was a daily care provider for her sister, and saw firsthand the detriment that chemotherapy did to her sister, the physical pain and mental anguish she endured in her fight to live. She as well as all of our family are still grieving over the loss of Betsy, her sister, and because of that experience she did not want to embark on a treatment plan involving chemotherapy.

After great prayer and reflection she made the decision to set forth in alternative medical treatment options that are mostly not covered by insurance. She is continually traveling back and forth to the Dallas Area to maintain her treatment plan, that in combination with a strict all natural, no sugar, no preservatives diet, exercise, and her faith, her strength and health are continuing to persevere.

Edie was born to Farrell & Mary Lou Butler December 15, 1952 in West Columbia Texas. She moved to Pearland with her parents as a child, and was the second born of ten children. She married Jesse Kliesing another Pearland native, they celebrated their 39th wedding anniversary this past November! She is Mother to 3 Children, and Grandmother (Memaw) to 8 Grandchildren! She not only provides a loving, ever-accepting and understanding relationship for her immediate family but also to all of her nieces, nephews, as well as great nieces, and nephews too. The dynamics Edie brings to our family are something that we are all fully aware of the extensive blessings we have been provided by God's grace! Upon meeting Edie you immediately love her! She has a gift of making you feel loved, accepted, valued, and appreciated! Her honesty, sincerity, determination, faith, sarcasm, whit, and love of life are contagious and we are all better people for knowing, loving, and being loved by her. She has done so much to take care of every loved one in her life and now we are blessed with the opportunity to work together to support her, love her, pray with her, through this time in her life. Throughout her life she graduated from Pearland High School, was a respected employee of Pearland State Bank, worked in collaboration with her husband Jesse at Kliesing Diesel, and was a successful Pearland Real-Estate Agent. She has been a member of Christian Temple Church in Pearland for many years, and has instilled in her children, grandchildren, as well as the entire family and friends the majestic gift of God's grace, faith, trust, and family.

Each treatment Edie partakes in is at minimum $2,000.00, but typically includes additional expenses as well. Our goal of the benefit is to supplement our Non-Profit Account in excess of $75,000.00 to ensure that all of her medical expenses are covered and not a burden to her during this time of her life.
