Donation protected

FUNDING NEEDED FOR PLANNING CONSULTANT NOW.

The application is being RESUBMITTED. We are now raising an additional £900 for Nigel Salmon and his team to attend various crucial planning meetings on our behalf.

STAGE 3 - £900 (please note if lockdown is eased our representative may have to attend a very long planning meeting because we don't know at what point during the day and on the agenda this application will  be presented.)

THANKS TO ALL THE SUPPORTERS WHO CONTRIBUTED TO STAGES 1&2 WE NEED YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT

THE APPLICATION HAS BEEN RESUBMITTED.

WE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED STAGE 1 & STAGE 2 - WE HAVE NOW ENTERED STAGE 3
Stage 1 & 2 We raised a total of £1600.00 and for stage 3 we need £900.00

The Total funding target to date is £2500.00

The following is a brief summary of the action we have taken to date.

All of this has been possible because of YOU. Thank you!

COMPLETED STAGE 2 - Fundraising of £600  COMPLETE - The planning application was to go before the Mendip Planning Board on 18th December, there has been no explanation of why there has been a delay and  It is now nearly 6 months past the initial published determination date.

We are advised by  planning consultant Nigel Salmon that because the application has been submitted to the planning board, it is likely that the Planning Officer Nikki White has approved the application, in spite of the strong planning points against it and substantial opposition from the local community.

Nigel Salmon will represent us at the Planning Meeting on December 18th and there are the following possible outcomes:

If the application is refused the applicant can then appeal. This means a planning inspector will review all the evidence and ask for further submissions. If the application is passed by Mendip or at an appeal our only recourse is a judicial review. This will only be possible if our Barrister advises that there are strong enough points of planning law to do so. If you lose a judicial review you have to pay not only your own costs but the other sides.
This could be up to £150,000 (do not panic - we are already planning the international fund raising campaign if this outcome occurs)

THANKS TO ALL THE SUPPORTERS WHO CONTRIBUTED - WE HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED STAGE 1 & STAGE 2

The Planning Professional we hired give initial advice on what the best planning objections were and spoke at the town council meeting, where Glastonbury Town Council made the decision to REFUSE the application...
Over 200 objection were submitted to Mendip District Counsel -

We want to protect Wearyall Hill from a proposed residential development.
