Keep WAW Alive

We are losing WAW unless we step in and help NOW

I have just had a phone call with Rick and Zak. If I tell you that they are upset it would be a massive understatement. Not angry, upset that 30 years of work and dedication is slipping away.

It has long been known that WAW is unlike any other Wrestling Companies as they do not survive just to run shows with minimal overheads. WAW runs a successful training school, Kids class, shop and offer 1 to 1 training to people of all levels.

We are ALL aware of the BBC1 documentary highlighting the work done by Zak and WAW concerning mental health, disabilities and the community. For the majority of the last year none of this has been allowed to happen due to Covid, but the bills still need paying.

Unless we as fans of WAW, of the Knights and of any of the wrestlers past and present step in now, WAW will not return on the provisional date set by Commons of the 17th May. Thats another 3 months of ZERO income. Grants are not possible to WAW as a company or to the Knights as self employed owners because Wrestling is niche and has no governing body to spread the wealth. This means there will be no more of the likes of Nick Aldis, Kip Sabian, Rowdy Man, RKJ, Sweet Saraya, PJK, Brad Slayer, Keegan, The Hooligans...... Paige. The treadmill stops turning and so does WAW. No more place for kids class to take place, thats 60 extra kids on the streets because they have no external support network. No more training weekends keeping us all on the straight and narrow, no more something in common for thousands of people that are involved in some way with WAW.

We need to find a minimum of 3k per month to keep WAW. We need to find 5k a month to stop the Knights digging into their own pockets anymore and foregoing their own personal rent, bills and food.

Its time we stood up and gave some back. Let's keep OUR WAW alive.
