Keep Toronto's Ballroom Community Thriving

Donation protected
Happy Pride Month! The TKBA is calling on the community to help us reach our goal of $20,000. Consider having us are the community organization you choose to support this month.

We are now at the place where ballroom is thriving in Canada. We are being broadcasted on CBC, we have big plans for big balls but we are a very underfunded community. As such, we rely heavily on the support of the people, businesses, and organizations we come in contact with. With your support we will be able to continue the amazing work we do to impact the lives of many young people in our city and right throughout our country.

Since our last fundraiser, a group of our youth - led by Kristopher Phillips, created a beautiful website that has been regularly updated with everything including a beautiful archive with pictures and videos. Please take a second and look at the amazing talent of our young people by visiting the website: www.tkba.ca

Coming out of the pandemic, we do virtual sessions to keep our community engaged while sharpening their artistic tools. Moving forward, this virtual program is now a FREE weekly drop-in program where community members can do this in person. We also have meaningful conversations about the things affecting our community, such as vaccines, cryptocurrency, politics, harm reduction, and more.

We want to continue to throw fun and free community events right through the year, including our infamous outdoor kiki balls! Your support will go a long way and affect many people, so consider donating to the TKBA.

The Toronto Kiki Ballroom Alliance is a for-youth-by-youth grassroots organization that started out of the need to bring Ballroom Arts and a sense of community into the City of Toronto. Founded in 2010 in Toronto by Twysted Miyake-Mugler and Legendary Motha Vixen, it is a space to nurture the needs of Black and other racialized LGBTQI+ youth facing various barriers and traumas. The TKBA provides a safe space for LGBTQI+ youth to be seen, protected and celebrated.
