Keep the Sauna Free at Fire in the Mountain

Dearest Attendees, Crew, Musicians and Volunteers.

We are reaching out to ALL our community to support our sauna and shower area: to help repair storm damage to our existing permanent sauna and to provide a second sauna to meet demand. We may even be able to build another couple of showers too!

Goal 1: Current Situation - Repair The Sauna! £1000

How many festivals provide unlimited free saunas? We have for long prided ourselves on not charging to have a sauna or shower at our festival, and have absorbed all these costs into the ticket price. This is totally fine until a tree gets blown over and crushes the thing! Festival Budgets are a delicate beast, and we just about breakeven every year we run the festival... no one could've predicated Storm Darragh coming along and dropping a tree on our sauna! We now have an unexpected extra cost in repairing it. We have thought about using wristbands and all that, but really don't want these "exclusivity" vibes. Instead of an exclusive wristband, we're asking everyone to chip in and help, and maintain that equality.

We need £1000 to repair our sauna, and it stays free entry, all weekend.

Goal 2: Provide a second sauna to meet demand - and Free. £1500

We've had a sauna the whole time we've run the festival (15 years), and they've definitely become all the rage these days! Instead of using paid for wristbands, we are asking everyone who comes to the festival to "pay what you can afford" in advance of the event via this crowd-funder. IF we raise enough, we will provide a second sauna, for free! Having 2 would certainly help meet demand and cut the queues, and give many more people a chance to experience the health benefits. Again, we've never charged anyone to have a sauna, and have always absorbed the costs into the ticket price and bar profits - but having 2 sauna will sure use a lot of wood and people to run! Please help us meet some of these costs.

We need an additional £1500 and we will organise a second sauna and keep it free entry all weekend! You will help cover the Hire Costs, transport, set up, crew to run it, firewood, cleaning, and maintenance.

Our Licensed Capacity for the festival is 2500 (2000 campers and 500 passing through on day tickets). We are aiming to raise £2500 so everyone can have a delightful free sauna - that's just £1 per person!

(We're asking people to chip in more that £1 though, as not everyone donate!! although it would be cool if we had 2500 donations of £1!)

Stretch Target and Goal 3: Provide another couple of Hot Showers. £2500

Since we're here cap in hand, why not give y'all a stretch target. We are aware we could certainly do with more showers.. again, there are plenty festivals where you gotta pay... and it's understandable given the costs and work to provide them (please do look at our incredible eco reedbed filtration set up).. however, we don't feel that's right, and are instead attempting to meet those costs in a different way - by asking people to pay what you can afford, and in advance.

We need an additional £2500 and we will set up 2 additional FREE ENTRY hot showers at the festival - that's an additional £1 per person who comes! Maybe we'll find out who hasn't chipped in at the festival cos they'll be the stinky ones! haha!

PS I know we did a proper crowdfunder last year , and that was really appreciated... this one is different as we're effectively asking everyone who loves a sauna to pay in advance to have one, and to pay what you can afford... and given the storm damage, this is so we don't have to start charging people to have a sauna (which every other festival does).
