At the beginning of 2023 the family accepted an offer to move from Washington to Illinois to work at Undead Labs; by the end of 2024 Undead Labs laid off its QA testers. Without even a chance to recoup moving costs in a move that was supposed to lead to career advancement, the unemployment is running out and the gaming industry that shows no signs of recovery for folks that put literal blood, sweat, and tears into their work.
