Keep Students Safe: Support Gun Lock Initiative

School is supposed to be a safe haven where students reach their full potential. Unfortunately, schools are being targeted for mass shootings. We aspire to advocate for the safety of our students and teachers nationally. 80% of school shooters got their guns from their homes because parents weren’t locking up their firearms appropriately. We aim to bring parents’ awareness to this enduring issue and advocate for the NYS gun-lock-up law. We plan to educate parents about the risks of owning a gun and leaving it unlocked. We also want to raise money to distribute gun locks at local gun stores.
