Help keep my friend Sadiqa* at university!
Sadiqa is an international student here in the UK, and they're a queer disabled PoC. Their visa in the UK depends on them having the money for their tuition and living costs, as well as medical costs—if they ask for financial hardship support from the university, or try and take a leave from studies, their visa will be cancelled and they'll be sent back home to an abusive, extremely unsafe family situation.
They've been supporting themselves and paying the (very high) cost of international student fees, on top of rent and living costs, for the last year since their family cut them off, but that has meant a huge amount of work on top of their studies—it's had a massive toll on their health and there are limits on how many hours they can work under visa regulations. The money raised will be used primarily for their university tuition fees and rent, and also for basic living costs and medical care.
Sadiqa is an incredible human—they've given so many hours to queer and PoC activism at uni, they're always around if anyone needs a friend, and they've worked incredibly hard to keep themselves here and at university. Help us keep them at school, keep a roof over their head, and keep them safe—anything you can donate is very appreciated!
