Please help with repairs!
Every month, our nonprofit helps families recover from homelessness by providing furniture and household items such as bedding, dishes, etc. We have helped hundreds of families who usually have nothing but the clothes on their backs because of fire or leaving domestic violence shelters, etc. In addition, we provide thousands of meals to the community, taking food boxes to public housing areas and seniors who lack transportation.
Our van is a 2008. It is mostly reliable; however, it needs new tires, brakes, and maintenance. Last summer, we forged through 100-degree heat with no air conditioning. This limits our food distribution when we have food that needs to stay refrigerated.
It would be great to have a newer vehicle. Meanwhile, we are asking for help to get the truck running safely so that we can continue to help those in need. We do not charge anything to the families, and we do not pay ourselves or helpers. We all volunteer to make this happen because we know what it’s like to struggle to get on our feet, to go through rough times, and we want to continue to pay love forward. We pay for the van note and insurance out of our pocket because the nonprofit lacks funds for vehicle expenses.
Thank you for any amount that you can sacrifice to make a difference.
God bless you.
