Help suddenly blind Nixx get to the Opthamologist

Donation protected
My dear friends are private about their lives but simply can’t afford one more expense.

Nixx is my niece puppy, she has been in my life since she was a wee pup and I even fostered her for awhile when my friends were moving.

Nixx is 7 years old and is now blind.

They had hired an in-home pet sitter but upon return home it was clear Nixx was not feeling well and additionally, was now blind.

They immediately took Nixx to the vet who spent 3 weeks treating her and saying her eyesight would slowly come back before  getting another opinion.  We now know Nixx has anterior uveitis, a secondary condition of the eye, and it is unclear what the primary disease that caused this is yet - it could be another type of eye infection. The new vet also said there is nothing he could do to repair her sight and referred Nixx to an ophthalmologist. Nixx is still adjusting to her sudden loss of vision, even though it's been a few weeks now.

The first visit to the opthalmologist is estimated to cost $1,500.

Unfortunately, all we can do at this point is find out what happened, make sure Nixx isn’t in pain and make her comfortable for the future.

We are not looking for the best treatments or surgeries to regain her sight, at this point we just want to get the basics covered.

Please donate if you can and share in pet friendly groups. Thank you so much.
