Keep Native children warm and fed
Tax deductible
For 17 years the Native American Children's Association, a 501 (c) 3 (tax-deductible donations) has been striving to help give children what they need. This winter season, it is important to understand that the Montana reservations are isolated some distance from main cities. This state has some of the cruelest winters and it is not unusual for kids to wait for buses wearing only a flannel shirt in the windiest, iciest terrain imaginable. Even though we have distributed hundreds of free, new coats this year, there are thousands of children in need. We are often told these children sleep in the coats you give them. They are passed down to younger siblings and provide warmth for years.
Parents struggle to make ends meet with high heating and electrical bills; sometimes there is little left for food. Some homes have no power or running water. They are asking for help feeding their children for Christmas in these hard times. We have established enough goodwill over the years with grocers that we are able to get tremendous bulk discounts at stores if the donations are generous enough. Please help us to get food and coats to children at this crucial time.
