My name is Yulia Mingazheva. I am licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and massage therapist. I established Soul of Lotus acupuncture and massage practice in 2018 in Dumbo to offer healing services to the community. It has been beautiful to see the trust my clients have put in me and to be the change I want to see in the world.
Not being open has been extremely difficult, not just financially but emotionally. Healers want to provide healing in a crisis! Acupuncture and massage are so effective in helping what many are struggling with right now, such as depression, anxiety, insomnia, and lowered immunity. It is heartbreaking for me to not be able to provide relief during this pandemic.
I want to reopen and provide affordable treatments to everyone, but I don’t know when that will happen and like everyone I am listening to and following CDC guidance. I have applied for any kind of financial assistance I can, include a PPP loan and SBA disaster relief loan SBA, but these were not available for a small business like mine.
When I gave birth to my lovely son in 2019 and took a few months of family leave, I prepaid all my business expenses, expecting to come back to work as soon as possible. Now all my savings are depleted and I can no longer sustain this wonderful business.
My practice relies on human to human contact, meaning I cannot just “work from home”. Due to this uncertain and challenging time, I am asking for your help! This is a real reversal for me since it is me who is always ready to help but here I am.
Any donation you can provide will be met with deep gratitude, and all funds raised will go to expenses including rent, insurance, utilities, and needles and other supplies. I love my job and look forward to the day I can once again be and integral part of the community’s health and well-being.
