Keep Mike Kayaking to recovery!

Up until October 2017, Mike was a vibrant, active 63 year old who loved kayaking, fishing, boating and spending time with his family and friends. In October he started experiencing pain in his hands and feet, which led quickly to him having trouble walking.
After multiple trips to his doctor and the ER, he was transfered from one department to another, enduring multiple tests and lengthy hospital stays for over a month. He was finally diagnosed with vasculitis, an autoimmune disease. Since Mike was misdiagnosed several times first, the vasculitis had a much longer amount of time to attack his body before being detected.
Mike was transfered to cleveland Clinic in November, where he has remained (mostly in intensive care). The vasculitis has attacked Mike's lungs, causing him to be placed on a ventilator for breathing assistance, and sedated for more than 2 weeks now. Mike must undergo physical and occupational therapy to strengthen his lungs and regain his hand, foot and leg function. His prognosis is uncertain, but family and friends are praying for a miracle as he faces a long road to recovery.
He has been on short term disability leave from his job since October and Loretta (his wife), has only been able to work part time due to having to be Mikes advocate at the hospital. We thank you for your prayers and any and all contributions you can make to help the Dempster family with their numerous medical and financial needs, as they face a very uncertain and rocky road ahead.
Loretta has done so very much for our church, missions and just people in general, please help us help them!
