Lynda was diagnosed with triple negative metastatic breast cancer just before Christmas.
Unfortunately, this type of cancer is Stage 4 and without a cure. She will be receiving chemotherapy three out of every four weeks for the rest of her life.
Lynda's triple negative is unusual in how it is presenting so both of her oncologists strongly recommend that she obtain a genetic test called Foundation One. This test provides her oncologists with information about mutations in the cells and identifies potential therapies, clinical trials and medications that could prolong her life.
The cost of this test is $5800 and her insurance company will not cover the entire amount.
