Keep Leah Rollin'

Leah has faced many medical challenges with cerebral palsy, such as limiting her to the use of one arm but this has not stopped her from accomplishing so many amazing things.  She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and later her Master’s in Social Work.  She has been an educator within the Cabot School District for her entire 18-year teaching career, where she leads her department at the high shcool.  She gives 100% to her students everyday and she doesn’t stop there.  Leah also leads a Life Group at her local church and is ready to help anyone she can whenever the need arises.  Recently she found out that her “high mileage” wheelchair will need to be replaced but insurance doesn’t cover 100% of the cost.  We would like to help lessen this burden on Leah with your support.   She protested at first, but we were persistent on giving back to her after all she has done for our community.  The new chair we would like to purchase would give her the ability to further her independence, with features like active reach and height.  These features would provide her with abilities that we take for granted every day.  Things like grocery shopping, making dinner, walking with people at the same height-level and providing her the opportunity to write on the board while teaching.  No matter what life throws at her, she trusts God to see her through and pushes herself to go that extra mile.  These new set of wheels will help make sure she can keep going that extra mile.
