My name is Anahi Rincon. I am an Indigenous Mexican who has lived in Houston, Texas, since I was 13, and I am now 34 years old.

I am certified in multiple disciplines of healing arts, yoga, and therapy. I am also the co-founder of Kultivarte Art Studio and JR800 Tire Service, located in the Northside Village of Houston, Texas.

First, I would like to thank our sister Yvonne and her partner David for their support in organizing this fundraiser to help our family keep our business open.

JR800 Tire Service is a family business where we provide tire changes, used tires, patches, air, oil changes, and brake services. It is primarily run by my brother, Jacobo Rincon. To support the environment, Jacobo and I co-founded Kultivarte Art Studio, where we transform used tires into chairs, flower pots, and other creative materials.

We have been open for a year and six months, and during this time, our Art Studio has flourished through collaborations with local artists who have become like family. Together, we offer a space for creativity and culture, sharing the teachings we cultivate from our ancestors and Indigenous wisdom, including sustainable practices like planting and various forms of art and meditation. We also prioritize family well-being and the safety of women, children, and the LGBTQ+ community.

As an immigrant family with limited resources and no formal business or financial education, we have often relied on bartering, offering services for free, or accepting donations. Both of these ventures have been built largely through Jacobo’s hard work and the financial support of our family.

In recent months, our family has faced a crisis, with car accidents and personal challenges destabilizing our income and leading to late payments. As a result, the landowner has sent us an eviction notice, and I have been living at Kultivarte for the past few months to try to keep things running.

Our work, our services, and our dreams are all invested in this space. Our family and community are at risk of losing everything if we cannot cover what is owed. The money raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward covering rent payments so that we can remain open and continue serving the community.

We are also in the process of applying for grants, organizing art events for fundraising, and developing a business plan to ensure the future of our ventures.

For now, we remain committed and consistent with our regular schedule of services.

Blessings and thank you for your support in helping us raise the $15,000 needed to keep our doors open and our small family business alive.

On behalf of my family and our community of artists, we sincerely thank you for your support. Thank you for sharing this with others.
