Due to COVID 19 pandemic business is suffering financially.
Katie has been serving the Kona community for over 15 years. Her livelihood is being threatened by the Covid-19 virus. Due to the COVID 19 pandemic business is suffering by 70% loss and she is having to pay rent, bills and utilities with doors closed due to the Stay At Home Order. It is with great humility that she asks for your help to pay our rent, utilities and bills so that she can reopen her doors once things return to normal.
About Katie Moore
Katie was the first Zumba instructor in the state of Hawaii beginning classes over 14 years ago. Her energetic personality, teaching style, kindness and compassion made her one of the most popular personal trainers and fitness instructors in the state. Her desire to help the Kona community become healthier and happier is infectious and she has inspired many of her own students to become instructors themselves. Katie works tirelessly to inspire the Kona community with fitness classes and opportunities. She organizes yearly fundraisers for organizations such as the Special Olympics of West Hawaii. She volunteers her time to work with young women in the G.E.M.S. (Girls Exploring Math and Science) program, inspiring them to reach for careers in the Health and Fitness industry. Katie volunteers at events from the Alzheimer’s Association to Relay For Life. She has volunteered at most of the local schools offering Zumba fitness classes for the youth.
Katie’s Studio
With all Katie’s hard work in the community she has struggled for 10 years to find a place to teach and call her fitness home. She has taught her classes at a variety of locations: local gyms, resorts, hockey rink, car dealership parking lot, school recreation fields, bowling alley parking lot, backyards, parks, and more!
Finally, after years of searching, she found her fitness home. A wonderful open-air studio in the heart of Kona. When COVID-19 struck Katie was diligent at making her space safe for participants. But then the order from the Governor came down and The Stay and Home order went into effect.
Katie applied for loans, paycheck protection program and grants that were made available during this pandemic. Unfortunately, the funding and grants that were made available have run out.
So now she is reaching out to the community for help.
