Help Us Honor Kristi and Bring Her Babies Home
Wednesday morning, Janet Braden received the devastating call no mother ever wants to get. After battling health issues for nearly a year, her 29-year-old daughter Kristi passed away, leaving behind three young children, two boys aged 9 and 7 and their little sister, age 2. Janet and her husband Mark want to be the ones to provide a loving, safe home and are working desperately to gain custody. The two boys are fiercely protective of their little sister, but unless Janet and Mark are able to obtain guardianship, they will be placed in separate foster homes, with no possibility of Janet and Mark even able to keep track of them. At this point, not only do they need to cover funeral expenses for Kristi, they also need to complete extensive home renovations, including two new bedrooms, a new bathroom, and a safely fenced area for the children to play in order to meet the requirements for custody. The renovations must be complete before they can get the children as they will be moving from one state to another.
The Bradens are upstanding members of their community, always ready to lend a helping hand to others. They have already homeschooled five children, with two still at home. Their faith has been a guiding force in their family and their personal lives. It is with faith that they are undertaking this new journey, trying to bring hope and healing to the hearts of these children whose mother was taken too soon.
Kristi was a devoted mother, kind and compassionate and absolutely loyal. She enjoyed being a mother and a caregiver more than anything, always putting others before herself. In lieu of flowers for Kristi's memorial, the family would be better able to use any donations to help bring Kristi's babies home. The expenses incurred for burial along with preparing a safe place for these children to live are accumulation rapidly. All donations received will be applied to these expenses.
