Keep kids safe while dancing

My Name is Charity Carrig and I own Elements Dance Center, LLC in Hamburg NY 14075. We opened our doors (6069 Southwestern Blvd) in July 2020. We offer dance classes to children age 3-18 and few adult small session dance/fitness classes. Our mission is to provide a family friendly, safe environment for students of all ages to learn to express themselves, gain self-esteem and choose a healthy lifestyle. We want every dancer to be in their element. We also understand that not every child will choose dance as a career, and that is okay. We commit to giving every child the same amount of love and dedication as the next. Dance lessons are much more than that. We will give them tools to use in all aspects of life. Confidence, leadership skills, creative thinking and relationships that will last a lifetime. We focus on small classes and individualized instruction. We know that is these uncertain times, kids need connection more than ever. 

Since we opened in July 2020, we noticed some issues with our current space. It is exceedingly small (800 sq ft) now with the COVID regulations to accommodate enough children to make projected profits. Right now, we can fit 10 with the guidelines but would like to be able to fit 15-18 with more space to spread out. We also have a small un-paved parking lot which pools with water when it rains. It also causes large amounts of mud to be tracked in. I am looking ahead into cold weather months and it will be a sheet of ice.  I also have extremely poor outdoor lighting for families coming in and out from the building. We just have We have a lot of concerns with the safety of our families.  

We have found some space but after just building out our first studio, we do not have the upfront fees for build outs, permits and moving into a larger space.  We want to ask our community to help keep us moving and moving forward. We want to keep our kids dancing in a safe way. We need mirrors, sprung floors with marley flooring, bathrooms, a lobby etc.  With COVID-19 we've been able to pivot and make things work in a current space but we need to push through this and pivot again. With the uncertain times keeping our brand new business alive is imperative. Not only our family but for our community and studio families. 

Our goal is to raise as much as we can before January so we can move before April when our lease is ended.
