<div>On Monday, April 7, 2025, the lives of innumerable people were forever changed by the sudden and heartbreaking passing of Joan Bartoletti -- beloved founder of Dance FX and affectionately known as Miss Joan to all who knew her. For more than 40 years, Miss Joan was a pillar of the dance community -- locally and nationally. With open arms, she welcomed, trained, and inspired thousands of children, building a legacy that spanned more than four decades. Fiercely and without hesitation, Miss Joan loved both dance and her dancers. The lives she touched were immeasurable.

<div>Some of her students went on to become nationally recognized convention teachers, industry professionals, and studio owners. Others pursued paths as doctors, nurses, educators, and more. No matter where life took them, Miss Joan’s pride in her students never wavered. She found joy in knowing she played even a small role in their journeys.

<div>Since her passing, so many have asked how they can help and honor her memory. And in true Miss Joan fashion, we believe the best way is to pay it forward. In lieu of food or flowers, we invite you to support a nonprofit being established in her honor, aptly named The Show Must Go On. All funds raised will support causes closest to her heart.

<div>A cancer warrior herself, Miss Joan dreamed of becoming a Hope Studio with Dancers Against Cancer—supporting families in their darkest moments. She also recognized a growing need in the dance world: helping dancers who couldn’t afford conventions, competitions, or other transformative experiences.
