Keep Inspire Academy's Dream Alive

Inspire Autism Academy and Resource Center
was conceived by parents of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).  Both Jeanine and Jeannie felt that the public school system wasn’t adequately meeting the needs of their respective sons.  Jeanine’s son, David, was not accepted by his peers and teachers were unable to meet his individual needs.  Jeannie’s son, Nathan, although diagnosed with high functioning autism, did not fit into the mainstream classes or the self-contained special education classes.  Both boys struggled in their public school placements and were unhappy and stressed.  The two moms met at a group luncheon and began lamenting the lack of educational options.  Instead of resigning themselves and their sons to the fate of the public school system, they decided to open a center that could help their sons and others like them.  So the Inspire Autism Academy and Resource Center was born.

The goals of the center are to meet the individual needs of the students by identifying their strengths and providing a supportive environment that allows them to have opportunities for quality education, friendship, and interaction with the broader community.  At Inspire Academy and Resource Center, parents are respected and integral members of their child’s team.  Parents are also provided with resources and support as they navigate all stages of their child’s journey through autism, including diagnosis, education, community support and therapies, and transition.

A certified Exceptional Student Education teacher and a teacher assistant have been hired.  People in the community come and donate their time and energy so that students in the school can participate in as much enrichment as possible. There are currently 6 students enrolled in Inspire Autism Academy and Resource Center and more are enrolling or coming for services.  All the children love coming to school with their friends.  They are happy with their learning environment and are improving in leaps and bounds.

These two momma warriors need funds to continue their vision for their sons and all families that need a school that truly understands the needs of children on the Autism Spectrum.  Student tuition covers staff salaries and curriculum costs, but the school needs to fundraise  to cover costs of the facility.  Please consider donating to help keep this school open and helping families!
