Back in 2014 Sofia was diagnosed with brain cancer, anaplastic Ependymoma, after a risky brain surgery, she was recovering very well, being ready for the next step, chemotherapy.
14 long months of suffering with more than 7 months spent only in the hospital having her mom by her side every single second and me working hard and long hours to keep the family on the floating surface. Wasn t enough. Step by step we end up our savings, then friends and family help us to go forth as a normal family, we've struggled with bills and money for food, toys and all that she need not to feel that her illness is causing all of this. Happy time came back, somehow, when we al breath easily.. MRI scans were showing no sign of tumor or cancer in bloods tests... we thought we beat it... wasn't like that... late October 2017 cancer strike back, another tumor growing on the back of her brain... operation was set to be made mid November 2017 followed by radiotherapy this time... having to travel in America for the best treatment that she can receive, the last one and a half year we build up our life with confidence acting like a normal family, never forgetting to pay our bills, loans, mortgage, car finance, taxes, food, toys, clothes and everything else.
Sofia started her nursery, now she is in preschool being nearly 5 years old, her birthday is on 20 the November. our little missystarted to make plans for her birthday, but as I said cancer stick back, sending her back in the old sad days. We all knew the compassion leaves are not being paid by most of the employers, and her mother needs to stay by her side again, leaving a big gap in families earning potential, also I need to mention that we all need to travel for her radiotherapy, bringing new warriors in our life, like cancer and the suffering wasn't enough, and the last thought that needs to be in our heads is having banks or other, knocking on our door asking for money... we start this fundrasing for her, to keep her smiling and safe, away of having us worried for another thing than she.. she needs love and protection to fight cancer again, she is a fighter an she will beat the cancer again, this is our hope.
