The Makery @ TAAG is a community creative space in Teignmouth, offering free workshops for people of all ages and abilities.

Over the past year, it has grown into something truly special, a place where people come together to create, connect and feel part of something. From children and families to carers to teens and adults with additional needs, it provides accessible creative opportunities that many now rely on.

At The Makery @TAAG, a wide range of creative activities takes place each week.

This includes our Make It Thursday (MIT) creative social carers group, Saturday Craftynoon community workshops, and free holiday sessions open to all ages and abilities. Alongside this, we deliver outreach projects to ensure high-quality art and creativity reach across the community.

We also host special one-off events and seasonal creative activities, bringing people together in shared celebration and creativity, as well as collaborative projects that help improve and enrich community spaces.

The Makery @TAAG is also a shared creative resource bank. In this place, people can try, play and experiment or borrow, supporting new and emerging talent and offering access to enriching, high-quality materials and creative opportunities.

For many, it has become more than a space; it’s a safe and welcoming place where people feel valued, supported, and able to express themselves.

To keep The Makery running for the next year, we need to raise just over £20,000. This supports the continuation of weekly sessions, holiday workshops and open access creative opportunities, ensuring they remain accessible and free to those who need them most.

We have already secured some initial funding and are now working to build on this to keep The Makery @TAAG open and growing.

Any contribution, big or small, will help us continue offering creative opportunities for our community.

If you’re not able to donate, sharing this page would mean just as much.

Thank you for being part of our creative community story.
