KEEP COLUMBUS SQUARE PARK

Donation protected
Columbus Square Park is the only Italian Heritage Park in Niagara Falls, NY.  Established in 1991 by the Pine Avenue Business Association. The Park has been a gathering place for bocce, concerts, festivals, people reminiscing and paying tribute to business and family.  Since 2008 there had not been an Association to maintain it, the park fell in disrepair.  In January 2017 the Pine Avenue Redevelopment Project formed to bring Pine Avenue back to the glory is once was with Columbus Square Park as it's focal point.  In 8 months the park was completely rehabilitated with a new roof and paint on the garage and lavatories, updated bocce courts, new fence, painted gazebo, landscaping and lawn care, repaired underground sprinkler system, new LED Lighting.  These upgrades were provided from volunteer business owners and the funds from membership and grants.  The Board of Directors, which consists of longtime business and property owners have taken great pride in this project with hopes it will be a catalyst for the entire street to follow suit.  It has been working, slowly but surely.  UNFORTUNATELY, upon reading the Niagara Gazette, a Notice of Foreclosures listed 1425 Pine Avenue, Columbus Square Park which will be put on the Auction Block in November.  After research it is found that an unpaid water bills since 2013 were left unpaid from an unauthorized user of the property.  With fees, the bill generated a Tax Bill that never existed before to $3,000.00.  We have made every effort to pay the water bill with fees waived but to no avail.  So at this time, we are asking for contributions to Keep Columbus Square Park from the Auction Block so we may continue to keep the tradition and beauty on Pine Avenue.  Any help would be greatly appreciated as we do not have funds to pay this as immediately required, but would like to stop the Foreclosure on the property.  All money brought into PARP is reinvested into the street for safety and beautification.
