Keep Christian's Eyes

IN A NUTSHELL- A few years ago, my husband, Christian was diagnosed with a degenerative disease called Keratoconis.  This is what has happened ( and will continue ) While there is no cure, the progression can be stopped in its tracks.
We have been patiently praying that BCBS Illinois would join other insurance companies to cover the simple but pricey procedure that received FDA approval over a year ago. Thus far we have been denied twice. Ironically, they will cover the corneal transplant which is the inevitable outcome when left untreated. 

HUMBLE PIE---It is extremely difficult and humbling to need to go this route.  From the start we have wanted to be part of the process that brought coverage to Illinois. Time is against us, literally eating up Christian's cornea and which can't be recovered. Realizing that all my friends struggle to meet their own needs we just place it in God's hands to touch those who can help and ask for prayerful support too. Our faith asks friends both living and passed to ask for God's help.   St. Joseph, St. Philomeana and Blessed Fulton Sheen are part of that circle.

DETAILS---Our Dr 's website  is www. Icansee.com We were so blessed that they are local and were able to do INTACS for us earlier this year so christian can see/ drive/ work right now.  This is typically done post Crosslinking.  We qualify for zero carecredit.  Thus far we have been denied 2x by insurance.  His vision is beyond being able to use contacs.  When we realized the extra night driving for our annual Holiday visit in Ohio was an issue we realized we have come to a tipping point. Our goal is to save the current level of vision in the worst eye.  We feel like we have more time to pursue insurance with the other not as bad eye and dont want to be over reaching with our cry for help.  If you read this far, thank you for considering assisting our family.  As always Praise God and Jesus we trust in you!
