California Farmers' Market Association asks for help for Coria Farms-

Pepe of Coria Farms found 280 of his beehives destroyed. Before he left for North Dakota on Monday to purchase a forklift, he visited his 360 beehives to tend to his thriving bee's. When he returned to his bee yard on Friday he found nothing but a carpet of dead bees. After sorting through the destruction that he thinks was caused by nearby spraying, Pepe lost 280 beehives.

Pepe and his family have been coming to the San Leandro Bayfair and Mountain View  Farmers' Markets selling local honey for 35 years. Not only does the family tend to bee's for honey, but Coria Farm's rents their bee's to other farmers for pollinating crops and orchards. This travesty is devastating for Coria Farm's and will greatly effect surrounding farms that depend on Coria Farm's bee's for production.

With losing 80% of his bee's, Pepe needs help rebuilding his hives and pollinating bee's.  Many members of the community have asked us how they can help Pepe restore his 280 hives, so we are reaching out to let people know we put together this Go Fund Me donation page for Coria Farms. Cost estimates to rebuild his hives and grow his bee's is $90k. Any little bit will help the farm restore their bee's and stay in the markets.

Pepe started beekeeping because he wanted to help bee's thrive. Please help us help Pepe keep the bee population alive.
