We need to buy a property to house 54 vulnerable children in Arusha, Tanzania.
Arusha Kids Trust is a small not-for-profit charity registered in Australia. We have worked with impoverished and orphaned children living in the Arusha area of Tanzania since 2014. We support a group of 54 children living in an orphanage by providing access to good education. We also provide material and social support to the children.
The orphanage is housed in a rented property but the landlord will not sign a lease. The site and the buildings are considered too small by the Tanzanian Social Welfare Department (Ustawi wa Jamii). The landlord will not allow construction of a security fence.
We have found suitable buildings in good condition on a fenced site five times as big as the rented property (about 5 Hectares). The property is situated close to the schools the children already attend. We need your help to buy a permanent home for these wonderful children. We have three weeks to raise $A140,000.
