My name is Stephanie. Ive been married to David for 17 years and we have had 4 beautiful children (Lauren, Victoria, Jacob and Nicholas.) All have been in great health until June of 2015.
Jacob came down with what we assumed were uncontrolled migrains. We made a trip to his PC doc and the ER (2x) before finally being told he had ensephilitus. Doctors had their suspicions in June that it was a rare brain cancer but we agreed to try steroid treatment and monitor the results. In August he re entered the hospital with his first focal seizure. We upped his steroid treatment again and added seizure meds and agreed to a biopsy. In October before the biopsy could be done Jacob had another focal seizure. During his hospital stay, Jake finally had his biopsy.
Currently the results aren't coming back as what the doctors expected which is a good AND a bad thing. Good because it may rule out terminal cancer, BAD because we are in a wait and see holding pattern. At a minimum another CT and spinal tap have been ordered.
The funds raised will assist with current medical bills. He has had numerous MRIs, Lumbar Punctures, blood work, CT scans and of course hospital stays.
