<div>For 23 years we have been helping Australian families to find the best movies and apps for their children, by providing evidence-based reviews. We are the Australian Council on Children and the Media (trading as Children and Media Australia, or CMA).

<div>The government funding for our services was cut in 2019 and since then we've been turning to our hugely supportive community to keep serving Australian families. Other similar services have started to charge, but we don't want to do that. Not all families can afford to pay - but all families need this kind of information. Please give what you can so we can keep our reviews free.

<div>Our services have won awards and are popular because they give all the information you need to decide whether a movie or app is suitable for a child of a particular age. Therefore we fill a significant gap in the Australian classification system, which only tells us whether content is appropriate for under-15s. Our reviews give information about under-5s, 5-8, 8-13 and over 13. <div>Also our service is completely independent of industry, and based on research. Our reviewers all have child development expertise, so families know they are getting an honest and reliable assessment. Know Before You Go and Know Before You Load can be used by schools, out-of-school-hours care services, and anywhere that there is a need to decide on the appropriateness of a movie or app for children.
