Justice for Lucas

Due to unknown tragic circumstances, we've unexpectedly lost  2 year old Lucas Raymond Samora. The family was woken up in the middle of the night to a very alarming call on May 20, 2019. This call was beyond heartbreaking. Nobody ever wants to receive a call like this. They learned their grandson, their baby boy, was admitted to Texas Children's Hospital & was on life support. It was unclear how he sustained such devastating injuries. There is an ongoing investigation by Harris county detectives and the District Attorney's Office.
At the time of the incident, Lucas was in the care of his mother, Emily Aust and her new boyfriend, Austin Reid.
Lucas was pronounced deceased on May 22, 2019. On May 25th, 2019 there was a Walk of Honor, honoring Lucas as he was wheeled from his room to the operating room for organ donation. 
Hospitals across the United States are holding 'Walks of Honor' to show respect to patients at the end of life who are donating organs to others. While the double doors of the intensive care unit are usually opened into a hallway crowded with dozens of hospital employees.
Lucas' Walk of Honor included over 75 friends and family who wanted to honor Lucas on his final journey to the operating room. Texas Children's Hospital said they have never experienced that many people coming to a Walk of Honor.
Lucas' organ donation helped four individuals; heart, liver, and both kidneys.
Lucas's heart was transplanted into a 5 month old male.
Lucas's liver was transplanted into a 3 year old female.
Lucas's right kidney was transplanted into a 27 year old female.
Lucas's left kidney was transplanted into a 53 year old female.


UPDATE: Emily Aust and Austin Reid were arrested on Sunday, September 20, 2020 on charges of Injury to a Child: Serious Bodily Injury (1st degree felonies) on ANOTHER CHILD, a newborn.
