Neighbor in Need

     Meet David and his furry companion, Abby. Dave and Abby are former Monroe Twp., NJ residents who have fallen on hard times.

     Unfortunately, David’s wife passed away in 2014 and shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, David lost his house in Monroe Twp. and has had multiple surgeries to remove cancerous tumors in his face and throat.

     David and Abby were living in his vehicle for almost two years, but as luck would have it, his car broke down and the repair costs were too expensive.  While living in his vehicle, Dave would stay in homeless shelters from time to time, but every time Abby would not be allowed in. During this time, Abby would stay in the local kennel.

    To be able to keep the pair together, Dave left the shelters altogether and the two have either been living on the street, or in a hotel room (when amazing people would pay for their stay).

     Most recently, Dave and Abby have been living out of a U-Haul box truck parked in Monroe Twp, NJ.

     David is currently on the waiting list for a small apartment in New Brunswick, NJ and is hoping to be accepted soon, but for the meantime Dave and Abby need our help.

     Let’s get Dave and Abby off the street before the Holidays.
