1 Year internship to Uganda

It’s amazing how God puts desires in your heart that only He truly understands. For a long time I have had a desire to serve the Lord overseas as a missionary. I have served on many short term trips and the hope of serving for a longer time overseas hasn't gone way. Believe me I have tried to push it away. I have thought of so many excuses why I shouldn't go, and how easy it would be to say no way God! But the desire to GO and serve is still there. I know it's from the Lord. As I am writing this it still doesn’t seem possible, that it's just a dream, but I am filled with such joy and peace!
I have the opportunity to live and serve in Uganda beginning in June 2015 for a year. I will be teaching pre-school age and toddler age children, working with Mercy Childcare Ministries near Kampala. I will also help wherever there is a need with the over 100 orphaned children cared for through Mercy. I will also be able to use something I am so passionate about (my photography skills) to help people see the story of Uganda and learn about the ministry there. I will be traveling to Uganda with and serving alongside Haleigh Kramer, another young woman with a passion for ministry.
This is so exciting but also really scary. I am scared to leave everything that I know here and live in a place that is so different, but I know there is a reason God has placed this desire in my heart! My fellow intern Haleigh and I are planning to leave in early June and stay in Uganda 10-12 months.
Mercy Childcare Ministries’ USA partner is Children to Love International and I will be serving under their umbrella (www.ChildrenToLove.org). The cost for this whole year of ministry is $24,000. It’s a lot of money, but I know the Lord will provide the need. I’ve enclosed a response card and return envelope. If you are able to help financially that would be wonderful, but if not, would you commit to pray for the ministry that the Lord has prepared?
