Restore 50yr Legacy of KCsBBQ

On Thursday February 16, 2017--just shy of our 50th year anniversary--a fire broke out at our family owned restaurant, KC's Bar-B-Que, in Berkeley, California. We are grateful that no one was physically hurt but we were devastated as four generations witnessed our local business go up in flames. Berkeley Fire determined that there was over $500k of damage and many of our family heirlooms were destroyed and severley damaged. Although KC's Bar-B-Que will be inoperable until further notice, we plan to move forward the best way we know how as a family unit.
Our restaurant has always operated as more than just a place to eat. We have created a family that extends from Berkeley to the entire country. We ask the gofundme community & our city to give a supportive loving hand as our family has for the last 50 years. We appreciate all of your support in what ever form it comes.
It is with our greatest gratitude that we thank you for ALL of your heartfelt donations and acts of kindness. As a family we would also like to acknowledge and offer our deepest gratitude to the Berkeley Fire Department for crawling through clouds of smoke to recover original family photos and what they could of the restaurant.
