Tuition costs for a young man.... A future missionary/humanitarian pilot.
Joshua is a young man who has felt the Lord placing a call on his life to go and be a missionary. As he sought the Lord's specific direction as to exactly where and how God wanted him to fulfill his call as a missionary. He felt directed back to the dream he had as a little boy....only now it wouldn't be a dream for his own pleasure, but a journey of faith and love as he set out to be a missionary pilot.
In August of 2014 Josh and his wife moved to Michigan to attend a small missions aviation school. SMAT offers an intense twenty-four month training program. Though expensive and intense, this training will provide Josh with Airframe & Power Plant Mechanics, Private Pilot Certification (VFR), Instrument Airplane Certification & Experience, Commercial Pilot Certification, and Instructor Certification (CFI-A & CFI-I). He will graduate with at least 250 hours of flight time. Once he has accrued a total of 500 hours of flying time, this extensive training will allow Josh to be eligible to be considered by an aviation mission organization's technical evaluation, and finally enter into the work of his calling.
As a missionary pilot Josh will be able to work with the other missionaries, assisting them with medical transports, flying in supplies to remote locations, helping to hold outreach campaigns and revival efforts, as well as a host of other tasks that a missionary might need in a remote location.
Josh has felt The Lord nudging him to rely on His faithfulness to provide the tuition for this expensive training. This has been an intense journey of faith. It would be much easier to apply for student loans to cover these costs, but this would also hinder Josh and Megan from entering into the mission field work as quickly.
My husband and I would love to cover their complete educational costs ourselves, but since this is not a possibility at this time:(....we are giving you a chance to join the fun! Let's see our goal met and a devoted couple encouraged in their journey of faith!
