Chris's Medical Fund

My really good friend Chris Whyde was diagnosed with Buergers disease (inflammation and thrombosis in small and medium-sized blood vessels, typically in the legs and leading to gangrene) a few years ago, the diagnosis took place after a blood clot was discovered in Chris's right leg. In attempts to to save his leg and foot from being amputated, the doctors performed a femoral bypass surgery, the femoral bypass eventually collapsed, leading to poor circulation, eventually gangrene, and the amputation of one toe. 

About one month ago Chris was changing when he lost all feeling in both his leg and foot, his leg turned completely white and decreased in temperature. Realizing that this deserved medical attention, Chris went to the hospital and found out that he had three blood clots in his right leg. The blood clots caused his leg to go into shock which led to excruciating pain, paleness and a temperature decrease in his leg and foot. After many attempts of increasing blood circulation, the doctors called it quits and decided that amputating his leg would be the only solution to prevent any further damage (the blood clots traveling to his brain, heart and lungs).

Chris is a hard working man, a full time chef at an Italian Restaurant in Seal Beach, known as Finbars. Chris's job requires him to be on his feet 40 hours a week. Chris does not currently have health insurance or monetary funds to keep him sustained while recovering. Chris has never been anything but selfless and deserves the proper care and compassion. I only hope that if I were ever to need any form of treatment or care that my friends would step up and take it upon  themselves to make that happen for me too. Please help my friend get back on his feet (foot). If we are able to raise enough money, a prosthetic leg will be personally made for Chris.
