Help me help the Nepalese Community

Most of you know me.....for those who don't or want to know more. My name is Ashley. I have had a long time goal to help women and children and have finally found a niche to express myself and help those who need it most. I chose Nepal because I have always been fascinated by their mountains, culture, lifestyle and its spirit. I hope to make amazing relationships with the people of the community that I will be volunteering in for one month. I will be working in a women's and children's shelter in Kathmandu, Nepal starting September 7, 2015. I am so excited to start a new adventure in volunteering in a country that desperately needs it. I'm asking for donations to help fund this. I will be volunteering with a local non profit that works with The Global Volunteer Network. This is a great program that you can also research ! It will cost my 500$ usd a week. This is a lot and I was even taken back. But for one month it will cost me 2000$usd to live. This money goes towards food, training, group support, housing, transportation and goes to the non profit as well. The 800$usd will help me pay for a part of my plane ticket which will cost up to 1800 round trip. I will be saving, selling off items and working extra to afford this.
