With all the negativity this year such as the ‘defund the police’ movement as well as the uptick in violence against police, it would be great if our community could honor the Niceville Police in time for National Law Enforcement Day (January 9th) for the great job they do and the daily dangers they face.
An easy way to show our appreciation is to donate money to buy restaurant gift cards for the approximately 25 street police officers. At $15 per gift card, this will allow each officer to enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. This not only shows appreciation to the officers, but also will help out the restaurants who have been affected by COVID-19.
My goal is to take all of the money and buy as many gift cards as possible and deliver them to the Police Chief (David A. Popwell) to distribute to his officers on January 9th.
I dedicate this project in honor of my late Grandfather ("Papo") who served honorably as a career Police Officer in Wrentham, Massachusetts.
