KB Cash - To Healthier Days

Spende geschützt
At the beginning of the New Year, my friend KB Cash (Blake) suffered a debilitating fall and spent five days in the hospital.  He shattered his right ulna and radius at the elbow requiring reconstructive surgery, shattered his right orbit (luckily not requiring surgery), and had subdural and subarachnoid bleeds, with related blood loss.  His vision was impacted and has only slightly improved, fortunately he did not succumb to seizures, but he is still facing tremendous challenges of potential additional surgery to his arm and orbit and is unable to work for the foreseeable future.
Blake has MS, and on most days one would never guess, as he is an active man who works hard and volunteers to help others.  A month post-injury and his right arm is useless.  This makes simple routine activities (working, driving, washing dishes, daily personal habits) impossible, and more so for a writer.  This will take time and my hunch is that MS could complicate the recuperative/rehab process.  Blake is kind and patient; no stranger to "hurry up and wait" as I can proudly tell you that he served in the U.S. military in the '80s.   But it's extremely frustrating and frightening to know that his insurance is not covering anything (including prescriptions) and he must now wait to be accepted by Medicaid prior to any follow-up appointments for care. This is compounded by a hold up (beyond Blake's control) on Disability paperwork (money in lieu of employment) in addition to a letter granting an interview for food stamps ironically arriving after the date of the granted interview.
Blake’s story proves that all of us are simply a step (or misstep) away from losing our comfort and security.  It would not be like Blake to ask for help, but as his friend, I want to ask for your help, please.   A contribution of any size would be greatly appreciated in his time of need to help defray the cost of mounting medical expenses, paying bills, rent, and simply surviving.
My friend's arm and head may have suffered a tremendous blow, but I'd hate to see Blake's spirit crushed during this tough time.  Thank you very much for considering making a donation.
~ Peace ~
