<div>Just a few short days ago, my son Kayson was worrying about homework, bowling tournaments, and making plans with his friends. He was living the joyful, carefree life every 14-year-old deserves. Strong. Healthy. Full of energy. Full of dreams.

<div>On February 18, 2026, everything changed.
</div>

</div>
<div>What started as a swollen lymph node under his chin and routine blood work turned into the phone call no parent is ever prepared to receive. We were told to go to the hospital immediately. By February 19, Kayson was diagnosed with <strong>Acute Myeloid Leukemia</strong> (AML), an aggressive cancer of the blood and bone marrow that moves fast and demands immediate treatment.

<div>On February 20, my brave boy began chemotherapy at Boston Children’s Hospital.
</div>

</div>
<div>Since then, hospital walls have replaced classrooms. The steady beeping of monitors has replaced the sounds of bowling pins crashing and laughter with friends. Instead of fishing trips and video games with friends, Kayson’s days are filled with blood draws, medications, scans, and long conversations about treatment plans. He is expected to remain inpatient for at least six months as he undergoes intensive chemotherapy and specialized care.

<div>And yet — through it all — he is still Kayson.
</div>

</div>
<div>He still smiles at the nurses.
</div>
<div>He still finds ways to make us laugh on the hardest nights.
</div>
<div>He still talks about his friends, his next tournament, and all the things he can’t wait to do when he gets home.
</div>

</div>
<div>Watching your child face cancer is a pain that’s impossible to put fully into words. It is terrifying and overwhelming. But it is also deeply humbling. Kayson faces each day with a courage that takes our breath away. Even when he feels sick, exhausted, or scared, he shows a strength far beyond his years.
</div>

<div>Our world shifted overnight. We are learning to live in a space where hope and fear exist together. We celebrate small victories — a good lab result, a short walk down the hallway, a meal he can keep down. We lean on humor to survive the long nights. We hold tight to faith, love, and the incredible support surrounding us.

<div>This journey will be long. It will include extended hospital stays, time away from work, and mounting medical and daily living expenses. While our entire focus is on helping Kayson heal, the financial impact is real and heavy. We are working closely with hospital resources and doing everything we can — and we are deeply grateful for any support, whether through a donation, sharing this page, or keeping Kayson in your prayers.
