Dear Family, Friends, and Loved Ones,
Sometimes in life we come across devastating news. This is one of those times. A few weeks ago, in July, our good friend, sister, mother, and aunt Kayla Hood was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia known as Chronic Myelomonocytic Leukaemia (CMML), a form of cancer of the blood-forming cells of the bone marrow. While her doctors are confident in her ability to combat this disease and come out cancer free on the other side, Kayla has a very long road ahead of her. Wednesday August 16th marks day one of this journey. While in treatment, her loving husband Ricky will be by her side 24/7, precluding him from being able to work and support their family. Her son Ryan and his family will also be right by his mom’s side make sure she is as comfortable as possible throughout this process.
Now is the time our family calls on those who know Kayla to help contribute financially to her recovery. As you can imagine, there are more than just medical bills as expenses in this process. With Kayla’s family unable to work during this time, their household and living expenses will require supplemental support. In times of dire need, we have the unmost faith that Kayla will get through this. In addition to keeping her in your prayers each and every day, we ask those reading this and hearing this news to please help in any way they can.
There is no contribution too small. Every little bit helps. If we can all take a little time to think about having a little less so Kayla can make it through this treatment without the stress of financials bearing down on her, we can help her move on from this and, one day, look back on how our community banded together to save someone we all love so much.
