Be a hero in an epic journey with an ending yet untold. Captain Erik, a seasoned charter Captain from Tampa Bay, set sail on November 19, 2023, with a goal to be the first man to kayak to Key West LIVE on TikTok. With a Starlink mounted on the back of his kayak powered by solar and homemade water-worthy batteries, Captain Erik and side-kick "Pumpkin Pie" set out to prove to the internet that you can do anything you want if you Meet the Requirements. Nine days into their journey, Captain Erik and crew ran into heavy winds on the Gulf, making the passes treacherous at best. Upon entering the pass, Pumpkin Pie was overtaken by a wave. In an attempt to save his friend, Captain Erik took his eyes off navigation to deliver details to the Coast Guard, resulting in a costly and unforgiving mistake. With waves six feet or higher tossing the men and their gear around the pass, Captain Erik was able to mount his kayak and join the Coast Guard in their efforts to get Pumpkin Pie back on his. As they lagged into the bay one kick at a time, missing gear totaling upwards of 20k, they praised God for being alive. As they head home to re-group, they continue to plan how to get back on the water where they left off...and kayak to Key West! LET'S GO WILSON!
