KAU Little League will be creating a scholarship fund in memory of Sean Barrett.  We will work with the family to develop a plan and will communicate details once finalized.  Thank you for your support.

Sean Patrick Barrett of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania died suddenly on February 25th, 2018.  He was 49 years of age.  He will be terribly missed by his loving wife Becky (nee Ralph), his children, Ryan, Brendan and Lyndsey (all at home), his parents Maryanne and Michael Barrett, his grandmother, Anne (MaMere) Lawless and his sister Colleen Barrett. In addition to his immediate family, he will be greatly missed by his parents in-law George and MaryAnna Ralph and his sister in-law Stephanie Kager (Chris) and by a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who have come to love Sean for his gentle humor and unfailing loyalty. Sean grew up in the Schuylkill section of Philadelphia, attended Waldron Academy, St. Joseph’s Prep (Class of 1986) and St. Joseph’s University (Class of 1990). He was an avid athlete growing up in South Philly and upon moving to Chadds Ford in 1997, he quickly became a fixture as a coach and volunteer for his children’s basketball, soccer and baseball teams with KAU, URA and St. Cornelius CYO. He was a devoted father and was wistful in the knowledge that this spring was the first in over 20 years that he would not be in the dugout or in the outfield watching his children’s games.  Even after living in Chadds Ford for twenty years, he still maintained a very close relationship with his circle of friends from his childhood neighborhood and enjoyed getting together in South Philly or at the Jersey shore.  In addition to summers at the beach, he loved to vacation with his family hiking and biking in Bar Harbor, ME and skiing in Jackson Hole, WY.  He was employed by AWE of Chester, Pa. for 10 years.  We will miss his wonderful storytelling, his charming smile, his approachable and welcoming way, his playfulness and quizzical nature, and most especially, his love for his family.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Visitation Thursday, March 1st 6-8:30 P.M. and Friday, March 2nd 9-10:30 A.M. at St. Cornelius Church, 160 Ridge Road, Chadds Ford, PA  19317.  Funeral Mass Friday, March 2nd, 11:00 AM at St. Cornelius Church also.  Interment St. Patrick's Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to KAU Little League, 873 East Baltimore Pike, PMB #472, Kennett Square, PA 19348 to support a scholarship in Sean’s name.
