Kauai Organ Reconstruction Project

Tax deductible

In 1925, Mrs. S. W. Wilcox generously donated an Austin Pipe Organ to Kaua'i's first Episcopal mission, All Saints'. It was the first pipe organ on Kaua'i. Ninety years later, the historic instrument is still Kaua'i's only pipe organ.

The pipe organ is an integral and beloved part of the Church's worship services and community music outreach programs in service to All Saints' vision to be a "gathering place for the people of Kaua'i." Unfortunately, age and the tropical environment have taken their toll on this beautiful and historic instrument. The pipe organ's various wood, metal, and leather parts have deteriorated. Routine maintenance and repairs were unable to stop the inevitable finale of the current pipe organ's lifespan.

The historic instrument was decommissioned, with gratitude, on February 7, 2016, and a capital campaign was launched, with the full blessing of the Vestry and congregation for a total goal of $285,000. The campaign's goal is to reconstruct and expand Kaua'i's only pipe organ, thereby allowing All Saints' to share this prominent, beautiful, and historic instrument with the people of and visitors to Kaua'i.

Through the many generous donations of our church family in the last three years, we have reached the final phase of the rebuilding process. The installation of the new organ is scheduled for February 2020 with a blessing and commissioning ceremony. We are so close to fully funding this project and (if all goes according to plan) we estimate about $50,000 worth of expenses remain.

This has truly been a community-wide effort completely funded by generous donations and we are incredibly grateful for all the love and support we received so far.

Let's see this project come to a glorious conclusion and the birth of a wonderful expansion of our music ministry. All Saints' plans to extend our organ back to the community, not only during worship, but also as a chance for music students to practice their skills through internship programs at our church.

Mahalo ke Akua and mahalo to all our supporters.
